Decoding #RRR and its first song: "Dosti"

When I first heard the song, it felt like a normal song. The reason being, the lyrics were not so clear on the device that I heard it.
Then I shifted to a pair of headphones with high bit rate. Thats when the song gave hints of the storyline of RRR and chemistry between its 2 leads.
Over the next few days, I listened to it on repeat mode.
The repeated listening suggested something deeper and what I feel could be the core of the movie:
It could be the clash of ideologies of the two lead protaginists, who somehow get forced to clash due to the circumstances. More than the friendship theme, this song gave a peek into the enmity between them. And these two people are not any ordinary ones. They were the iconic freedom fighters of India whose paths crossed in a far away land. In those days, moving to a north Indian city was a kind of foreign land, almost like travelling to New York from Hyderabad.
In this scenario, how could they possibly meet, the plots that lead to them fighting each other were promised to be epic, going by this song.
Below is the rough guess of the plot, which could go either way:
Ramaraju leaves to travel far and wide to gauge the intensity of Indian independence movement.

This also brings back memories of the Marvel Studios movie "Captain America: Civil War", where Tony Stark(Iron Man) fought with Steve Rogers(the first Captain America). Each of them were icons, and had their own share of fans. Both their methods are different but both had their own valid justifications for standing for what they believed for.
They are kind of fire and water. One had a kind of ego while the other was more wise and like a leader leading an army of soldiers. Even before the Sokovia Accords happened, they were of contrasting styles, and each of them had their own limitations in terms of how they handle the situations. Iron man was more like bang bang, get the job done. Captain America was more like following a process and putting team in front of himself. This doesnt mean iron man didnt sacrifice himself(which he did multiple times) when the need arose, but Captain America had a clear idea and a strategy which was more focussed on team work.
So when these two (super)heroes fight in Civil War, irrespective of which side you are, you get pulled into the action more deeply.
This fight somehow creates a unique feel and emotional connect.
We start feeling "Oh no. Please someone stop them from fighting each other" and seriously get involved in the proceedings.
In RRR too, such a fight has been guaranteed by none other than the story writer Vijayendra Prasad.
Another link with RRR is the antagonist from Hollywood, who is none other than
Ray Stevenson, the Volstagg seen in an early Marvel Studios' movie "Thor".
How Rajamouli manages to use such a huge star cast and a thrilling periodic fiction needs to be seen, especially the chemistry between the leading heroes.
Now, coming to the lyrics and the hints that I see from them:

Music: M. M. Keeravaani
Singer(Telugu Version): Hema Chandra
Lyrics: Sirivennela Seetha Rama Shastry

For those who cannot read Telugu, I have highlighted the crucial lines that point towards the dynamics of the relationship between the two protagonists:

Uliki vilukaadiki
Thalaki uri thaaduki
Kadhile kaarchicchuki
Kasire padagallaki
Raviki meghaaniki eee..
Dosthiiii…

Oohinchani chithrame chithram
Snehaniki chesina hastham

1. Anukoni gaali dhumaram
    Cheripindhi iruvuri dhooram

This means "a sudden storm brought these two closer".
What is that storm? It could be a policy by the british which could have created a stir and ruffled the feathers of both of them. The common element of both these fighters was their fight for tribals.

2. Nadichedi okate dhaarai
Vethikedhi maathram verai

Literal translation goes like this: "their paths are the same, but the destinations that they are searching for are different".
This indicates that their aim is different, which is understandable since Raju goes back to his village in AP while Bheem goes back to his place in Telangana(to fight for their future goals). Their lives could also have ended in fighting different enemies: Raju's enemy was the Britishers while Bheem was more against the feudal setup under the Nizams, where Britishers didn't have any direct influence(Nizams had autonomy under the British rule).

3. Thondhara padi padi
Urakaletthe uppena parugulaho
Mundhuga teliyadu
yedhuru vacche
Thappani malupulu ho

Literal translation is: "they took a step too early which leads to an inevitable twists and turns ahead".
This could mean that either one or both of them somehow took a crucial decision at the wrong time, which leads to a path where there were lots of inevitable turns. It shows that these to-be-icons did commit some mistakes due to which they had to pay dearly later on either through time or energy or by compromising their friendship.

So the bottomline is this:
#RRR looks to be a movie that could show us how the relationship changes due to circumstances and how it leads to these two ordinary people becoming notable icons later on in the Independence struggle of India.

With love.. Anil
